Zaza Farrell is the founder and force behind EmpowHER Enterprises Inc., a nonprofit rooted in purpose and powered by compassion. A survivor of low self-worth and emotional hardship, Zaza transformed her pain into purpose by building the very kind of support system she once needed—a community where women and girls can heal, grow, and thrive.
Grounded in faith and fueled by experience, Zaza launched EmpowHER to dismantle cycles of disempowerment. Through mentorship, personal development, and access to resources, EmpowHER reaches women and girls impacted by foster care, homelessness, and economic hardship. Her goal is clear: to help them reclaim their confidence, rise above adversity, and step into their God-given potential.
Professionally, Zaza brings over two decades of experience in diversity hiring and talent attraction. She has led initiatives that connect underrepresented candidates to meaningful opportunities, working closely with universities, affinity groups, and corporate partners to cultivate inclusive talent pipelines. She is a strategic thought partner with a deep understanding of workforce equity, sourcing strategy, and employer branding. Zaza holds a BA in Communication from Rutgers University and an MBA from Florida Metropolitan University.
Outside of her professional and philanthropic work, Zaza is a devoted wife to Dr. Robert Farrell. Together, they live with intention, joy, and a shared commitment to living purposefully. Zaza proudly serves with Top Ladies of Distinction, where she chairs the Status of Women program. She is also a member of The Entreprenista League and Black Women New Jersey, where she continues to advocate for economic empowerment, legacy building, and leadership for Black women.
Her story is best summed up by these words:
"She is full of wounds riddled with scars, but she is still standing, and she is still beautiful."
